Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. - Romans 12:10
Why Community Matters
We live in an increasingly "individualist" and "virtual" society where the value of authentic, generous relationships are in risk of extinction. As a church we believe the way Jesus lived, in community with his followers, is the key to enjoying life as God intended it. This means that church isn’t just a meeting, but a gathering of friends and family. Our church is organized around three geographic regions of the South Sound area to help members better connect with a community of believers. Living the life Jesus lived takes encouragement and support and a commitment to others.
Church happens Sundays for worship, but it should also happen during the week over coffee or a meal together, during a prayer time in the morning with another believer, or on a Wednesday night gathering. The church, as Jesus saw it, is all about relationships.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
- John 13:34
One of the strengths of our church are our small group meetings. In these times we focus on the application of Jesus' teachings together. We meet for meals, to pray, and to search God's word together. We also meet regularly to serve our local community as a group.
"Let Your Light Shine"
We also believe that the church should be a source of strength to the local community it's a part of. Jesus identified his followers as the "light of the world" and told them, "let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5).
